GlossyBox June Edition

This months edition of GlossyBox is a hit or miss affair. Some people are going to love this box and some are going to hate it. I'm sitting on the fence with this one. It's not one of the best I have received but it has a couple of things I am curious to try.

The first thing I am eager to try is the Dermablend Ultra-Corrective Foundation Cream Stick samples. Now I don't have any scars to acne to cover but if the before and after photos are to be believed this is going to give me ultra flawless skin. Will it work? Only time will tell.

The second item I am excited to try is the Yves Rocher ultra volume Sexy Pulp mascara. I love trying different mascaras so when I get them in these boxes I am always happy. The brush on this looks very good and importantly BIG so hopefully that means lots of volume.

Lastly I am looking forward to using the BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer. I use bronzer on a daily basis so I like to try different brands to see if I can one day find the holy grail of bronzers for me. Hopefully it will work well and not leave me looking orange or like I have rubbed dirt all over my face.

So over all this isn't too bad of a box but I would like to see better one for July or I may have to rethink my subscription yet again.

Obsessed Jewellery Vintage Pearl and Amber Drop Earrings

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win these fabulous earrings from obsessedjewellery.bigcartel.com owned by the lovely Rachel from aprettyobesession.com. I got to chose a piece from her website and I fell in love with these as soon as I saw them.

These little beauties look great with just about everything. I wear them with jeans and t-shirts to dress up my outfit but they wouldn't look out of place with something more dressier or even for a wedding. I have worn these earrings just about everyday since I received them. The great thing is they are not heavy so are very comfortable to wear.

Go check out Rachel's website http://www.obsessedjewellery.bigcartel.com/ for the cutest jewellery. She has rings, earrings and necklaces. All very unique and not what you will find on the high street. Plus the prices are affordable for everyone! Go on, you know you want to! :-)

Aussie Take The Heat Leave In Cream

What is it? A leave in heat protection cream that " will take your hair to a better place where torrid temperatures don't terrorize it and where it shines all the time".

Does it work? Well honestly for me no. This smells really nice in the tube but I can't really smell it once in my hair. This product also feels really thick which I thought would be a good thing but honestly once its applied onto the hair it feels like you haven't put anything in it. When blow drying my hair it felt really dry and began to go frizzy with static. Even more worrying was the state of my hair after using hair straighteners. It looked like I had been electrocuted with all the static! For something promising to protect your hair form heat styling this fails big time.

Will I buy again? No! For something that costs £6 in Boots i expected more. I think I will stay with the KMS California Colorvitality Shine and Shield Brilliance form now on.

                                                            Without flash

What is it? A buttery lip balm with beautiful shiny colour to give you baby soft glowy lips. It contains hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter and gives light to medium colour.

Does it work? I have been wearing these little lovelies for well over a month and they are great! They go on super smooth and leave my lips feeling soft. The colour pay off on these are really good. Of course it all depends on the colour you opt for but even the light shades give noticeable colour. Of course being soft and buttery means the colour does wear off but usually after 2 to 3 hours. If you go for a more pigmented colour like Lollipop I find this lasts much longer as it sort of "stains" the lips a little so it appears you are still wearing the colour.

Will I buy again? Yes! I absolutely love these! The only draw back is here in the UK we only have 14 out of the 20 shades. Hopefully this is not a permanent thing and we will be getting the rest soon.

Garnier BB Cream for Oily/Combination skin

I was quite sceptical when I heard BB creams were the new must have foundation. I mean it's just a bog standard tinted moisturiser isn't it? What kind of coverage can you get from that?! Well curiosity finally got the better of me and I gave in and bought the Garnier BB Cream for combination to oily skin in Light.

So, whats the coverage like? Well it's definitely not a foundation coverage but it does even out your skin tone and gives the appearance of having nice skin. The combination to oily skin option also does a great job of being matt. In the picture above I have just the BB cream on and no powder. If you have acne you will definitely need some concealer to cover any red spots. Same goes for any bad discolouration. But if you are going to be putting layers of concealer on over this it kind of defeats the purpose.

Will it last all day? Having tried this a couple days a week for the past few weeks I have been able to test it in all weathers. It's England, we have many seasons in one day most days. I can say that in really hot humid weather this will only last about 4 to 5 hours and you will need to touch up with powder as it will get a bit shiny. In normal mild weather I can get about 7 hours wear with minimal touch ups. So really much the same as a normal foundation in those conditions.

Would I purchase again? Probably not as I can get the same results wearing my usual foundation just applying it lighter. Also you only get 40ml in a tube. At £9.99 a go if you used this everyday you would go through it quickly and it would end up costing you more than just buying a normal foundation that needs replacing every 2 to 3 months.

Overall I would say this is an ok product. It's nice for the days when you want some makeup on without looking overly made up especially if you aren't going out or just going to the pool or gym.

Summertime Blues NOTD

I must admit I own loads of nail polishes but rarely use most of them. So I decided to use this pretty little combo today. Butter London Blagger and OPI Save Me. This is the only Butter London nail polish I own as they are on the pricey side. I think the colour is very bold but  a bit boring on it's own so I decided to add a bit of sparkle to it.

What are some of your favourite nail combos?
